Faridabad Police forms SIT to investigate activities of Al Falah University

Faridabad Police has set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to examine the activities of Al Falah University after several doctors working there were arrested in a major terror-related case. This action comes at a time when different agencies are already investigating the recent car blast in Delhi and a large white-collar terror module spread across multiple states. The police want to understand how the university may have been used as a base for suspicious and dangerous activities.

Al Falah University is located on Dhauj Road in Faridabad. The arrest of professor Muzammil Shakeel, who was allegedly found with explosives, weapons, and bomb-making materials, brought the university under strict investigation. According to sources, agencies have also detained a cab driver, a cleric, and an Urdu teacher for questioning as part of the wider probe.

The SIT includes two assistant commissioners of police, one inspector, and two sub-inspectors. They have been asked to prepare a detailed report on the university’s operations, including whether any unlawful activities were taking place inside the campus. A spokesperson from Faridabad Police confirmed that the SIT will look into all aspects of the case without any limitations.

Police focus on terror module links and nearby areas

The Commissioner of Police, Satender Kumar Gupta, has instructed the SIT to investigate how the university may have turned into a centre for terror-related activities. He directed the team to collect complete information about how the terror module operated, where its funding came from, and how explosives and materials were transported. The SIT has also been told to study the involvement of people living in nearby villages, as police suspect that certain local residents may have helped the members of the network.

The SIT was formed shortly after Haryana’s Director General of Police, O. P. Singh, visited the university. After surveying the campus, he said that the commissioner and deputy commissioner of police should personally visit the site and lead the investigation. This strong direction from the top leadership indicates that the authorities consider this case extremely serious.

Police sources said that one of the biggest questions they are trying to answer is how the terrorists managed to use the university as their base for years without being detected. Investigators are now studying how the suspects avoided attention, how they used university facilities, and whether any staff or outsiders knowingly supported them. This line of questioning is expected to be a major part of the SIT’s report.

Meanwhile, the agencies detained a cab driver from Dhauj village on Wednesday night. During a search of his house, officers recovered a grinding machine and another electric device. These items were allegedly kept with him by Dr. Muzammil Ganaie, one of the arrested doctors and a key suspect in the terror module. Investigators believe these machines may have been used for preparing or modifying explosive materials.

Sources said that Dr. Ganaie had also given SIM cards to some students and associates through the cab driver. The driver belongs to Asaoti village in Palwal district but has been living in Billa Colony, Dhauj. He reportedly came into contact with Dr. Ganaie when he brought his injured son to the university hospital for treatment after an accident involving hot milk. Dr. Ganaie helped the driver during that time, and police are now exploring whether this relationship later turned into a channel for illegal activities.

Investigating agencies have also detained a cleric and an Urdu teacher, both from Ghasera village in Nuh district. They were picked up from the Shahi Jama Masjid in Raipur village near Sohna. Sources say that Dr. Umar Nabi, the suicide bomber involved in the November 10 blast near Delhi’s Red Fort, used to visit this mosque regularly for prayers. The police are trying to determine whether he met anyone there or had discussions related to the terror module.

However, the cleric’s family has strongly denied any involvement. They said that the mosque is located along a major highway and that people from many places visit it daily to offer prayers. They said that the cleric has no connection to any wrongdoing and that visiting a mosque does not prove involvement in a crime.

Parents to protest as fear and concerns rise

As the investigation deepens, parents of students studying at Al Falah University are becoming increasingly worried. Many parents are planning to hold a protest outside the university on Saturday. They want answers about how such dangerous activities could take place in an educational institution and whether their children are safe. The arrests of university doctors and the ongoing raids have caused fear among families, who are demanding clear communication and strong action from the authorities.

The SIT’s detailed investigation is expected to uncover how the terror module operated inside or around the university campus, how the suspects stayed hidden for so long, and whether more people were involved. With multiple agencies working together and several individuals already detained, the case is growing larger and more complex.

Faridabad Police officials said that all angles will be examined. The SIT has been told to move quickly but carefully, ensuring that the facts are properly checked and recorded. Officials believe that uncovering the full network will take time but is essential for public safety.

The investigation is ongoing, and more detentions or arrests may take place as officers follow new leads. For now, the formation of the SIT marks an important step in understanding the full scope of activities linked to Al Falah University and bringing all responsible individuals to justice.
